I seldom have specific "fantasy casting" voice actors for my characters in mind, but in case of this absolutely trustworthy fellow, I imagine his voice to be like that of German voice actor Michael Pan. (If you click on the link and then on "2 Hörproben", you can hear some samples of his voice.)

Cleo's uncle Tarik would be able tell her exactly what was wrong with these robots.
The manufacturer of these things may well be Timmy's ToyCo - they have quite a history with malfunctioning toys, after all...

But aside from this robot, you can see that this shop also has some more interesting old stuff to offer...
(Thanks to MST3KFan and Chippewa Ghost respectively!)

I would rate this salesman's trustworthiness at 120 percent, indeed.

And what's the giant glowing cube?
Microraptor edit delete reply
Microraptor
The giant glowing cube is.. a giant glowing cube. :-)
Well, actually, the idea was that it is just some kind of fancy decor lamp, with constantly changing color patterns that are interesting to look at.

Hahaha, that's a good answer

I still don't think I'd want it in my living room, though. Which is probably how it ended in this shop in the first place!

Never trust a sales dude wearing shorts unless he’s selling surfboards.

If he actually has indeed a surfboard for sale somewhere in his shop, it's probably one that is cursed by a Polynesian deity or something...

Famous writer.... Emily Dronte, the author of Wuthering Hates?

Microraptor
I like that guess - but unfortunately no... ;-)

(Here is a clue: A quote by the writer in question can be found here, in panel 2...)

So it was Dronte Aligheri with Divine's comedy.

Exactly!!

Ah the rare limited edition "Toxic Warheads" concert poster. Best put that baby in framed glass.

Seems that the store owner is not entirely in the picture about the true value of this item. (Which would mean a potential buyer could get it for a bargain price! ;-D )

Love the nods to Let It Ride and Pow! Right in the Nostalgia!

And I really don't trust that cube, Multi-colored glowy things are bad news (sorry for the borderline hijacking, self-promotional link).

I don't know about that cube specifically, but if someone where to examine this shop with some kind of detecting device for magic (e.g. like the one owned by Agent Johnson), I am sure some of the objects here would give off rather disturbing readings...
E.g. the evil clock in panel 3.

And I don't mind the borderline hijacking - I mean, a very heavy AB reference will come pretty soon anyway. ;-)

Nice shirt. Who shot the couch?
Microraptor edit delete reply
Microraptor
Ha! :-D

(The couch died of loneliness because nobody wanted to have such a gaudy couch...)

HMM. Real shifty vibe from this guy.

Oh, I am sure he is nice!

(Sometimes, I mean.)
