Unfortunately being in a gloomy mood seems to be the usual for Tiny during Christmas...

Well, listening to some funny song could indeed be helpful...

Okay... here's an excerpt from "The Other Side" by Tiny Tim, recorded in 1968:

"The ice caps are melting
Oh, ho, ho ho
All the world is drowning
Ho, ho ho, ho ho
The ice caps are melting
The tide is rushing in
All the world is drowning
To wash away the sin
The seagull flies
In search of land
The children hide
Beneath the sand
As golden toys
Come floating down"

Environmental issues... and toys! That sounds indeed like a song Bettina would like...

Buy her a Schipperke. I guarantee that petting one is a great stress reliever. (They are also smart and intelligent, if I do say so myself.)

A dog companion? Interesting idea...
When it comes to guard dog duties though, she already has Selene Wildebees. :-)

With my sharp hearing, no delivery person goes unannounced. Selene and a Schip would be a good team. If you give her a Schip, please add the tail. The European Union has banned the practice of bobbing the tails. (I am very attached to my handsome tail.)

A requirement for Selene Wildebees having a dog would be though that said canine gets along with her cat Patton... ;-)

Umm, we were talking about Bettina. That cat can stay at home wherever Selene lives.

To clarify, I don't agree with the sentiment that leaders can't show signs of stress.

I believe in the opposite: that in the face of fear and uncertainty, leaders have to model the behavior they want in their team. Sometimes this means getting emotional, sometimes this means being ice cold calm. The behavior is dependent on the leader and the situation.

Armchair generals and the peanut gallery being prescriptive ("show confidence" "always smile") outside of the specific context of the situation is exceptionally easy and invariably erroneous.

Sorry for going high and right on this, but (weirdly enough) that's the part of Tiny (and the rest of the Timmys, actually) that resonates the most with me. Sometimes they might not rise to the challenge, but they are leaders of their band, and to hold them to lower or different standards is disingenuous.

looks at major headlines over last year

yeah, a significant percentage of people don't know what competent leadership even looks like damn straight I'm gonna lecture on this

I suppose the rationale behind the "a leader shouldn't show weakness" platitude is usually that it can be bad for morale.
But yeah, if on the other hand a leader tries to sell themself to the outside world as a totally perfect and unswerving superhuman, I can see how that can have drawbacks...
