C. C.-G.?

Who could that be...?

Oh, BTW...

Stilldown is now selling Ariane Eldar: The Zeppelin Will Rise Again, a paperback for which I also did a small contribution. (Namely this short story.)

You can buy it here.

a ruby bowtie... I've seen the bowtie coming but didn't expected a ruby

Yep, the bowtie shape was already pretty obvious in the previous page.

But I reckon that if it were a normal bowtie out of cloth, it would have shown as being significantly less "solid" in the X-ray scanner*.

* Given that rubies and other gemstones are partly transparent for visible light, I have unfortunately no clue if this is indeed a realistic portrayal of how you would see them under x-rays...

Don't get me wrong, obviously, doing thorough research and fact checking is laudable!
But I am just a hobbyist doing a comic here, I'm not writing a scientific article...

I mean, it looks like it kinda shows up? However, x-ray machines are one way to tell if something's a fake diamond.

Seems I wasn't that far off after all then...

Also there is literal friggin' X-ray crystallography, a common method to examine the molecular structure of stuff via X-rays.
(E.g. the structure of the DNA got revealed that way!)

Dunno if it's at all known in Anglophone countries, but over here we have a proverb:
Even a blind hen finds a grain sometimes! ^^

oh and to answer your question, it's obviously
"something Chippewa Ghost"

Hahaha! I like that guess!
Especially because it would not even be just a meta-reference, since it already has an (appropriately mysterious) in-universe meaning!

But here again, I have to give the same hint as last time:
We have actually seen this character before!
(And even a few more times than the previous character!)
