The Deacon waves are named after Dr. James Deacon, who in this future seems to be regarded to be the pioneer of time- (and interdimensional) travel technology.
Last but not least:
Man, I was really tempted to have C. C.-G. say "Bettina Timmy I" in the last panel!
But that would have been too much unambiguous commitment to one particular timeline...

Two announcements...
Firstly:
The 600th page of Cryptida is approaching, and because I always do something special when the counter reaches a round triple-digit, I thought this time it would be fun to do one of those character Q & A things.
So please, ask my characters questions!
Post your questions either here in the comment section or in this thread, and I will deliver the answers in page # 600 (ought to be first half of January) in an (hopefully) entertaining manner!

I originally designed Cleo to be a guest OC for the Vacation Aggravation chapter of POW! Right in the Nostalgia. Thus, the answer would be: About the same age as Shana.
Unfortunately, I have never really pinned down Cleo's age more precisely than that - but my estimation would be that she has by now...somewhere between 12 and 15?
Hight:
I try to age her up in real time, but I'll be the first to admit that I may not always be consistently successful with that.
Perhaps the most representative is this recent page: She is slowly approaching the adults' shoulder hight (note that Tarik is supposed to be rather tall), but she is not there yet!
Also, there is this page, where her shoulders are almost the same level as Peter's - but they're sitting, so that can be deceiving.
I assumed she would be about 11-13 (a fifteen year old girl, even with conservative background, would probably know about things that bothered Cleo.)
Oh, BTW did you already notice Allison in the latest Playground page?
Perhaps Garrett is currently at the pool bar, fetching some drinks for Allison and himself. ;-)
