The cryptid of the day: Kongamato, here interpreted by me as azhdarchid pterosaur. (Because azhdarchids are totally cool!)

Also... A female blond botanist who is examining a leaf, but then gets interrupted by the appearance of an animal hitherto only known from the Mesozoic? I only noticed in retrospect that this is kinda similar to this scene here...

Great. Now I have the Jurassic Park theme stuck in my head again. I expect a chase scene the further we get in this chapter.

Dada-dah doo doo, dada-dah doo doo... :-D

And a chase scene? Hmmmm... ;-)

Looks like Mira actually gets to get in on the action this time!

Hmm... Congo basin...

There are many cryptids from the Congo Basin, some of them get mentioned by Kanny in the first panel!
But let's see if our heroes also do find something else there... ;-)

That is one nicely rendered Azhdarchid pterosaur, there - it gets my accredited Science nerd paleontological seal of approval!

Thank you very much!! I am quite the paleontology nerd myself, so you won't see any (hugely) inaccurate prehistorical creatures in my comic!

Uhmm, nobody make any sudden moves...

It's hard to suppress the fight or flight response...

Don't worry, Peter, nobody's judging your dumb hat except for every single person who will ever read this strip! Including me. I'm judging you.
Microraptor edit delete reply
Even the kongamato is probably judging him...

Maaaaaan, I have to tell. You really do your homework! It's impressive your research and the way you present the topics. Much respect, man!

Thank you very much! :-D

Prehistorical animals have always been a favorite topic of mine, so it was just a matter of time that one eventually crops up in my comic...
