BTW, Alfred Emmerich happens to be a cousin of Alois Emmerich...
Also, you can see in the 5. panel from below that Spiffee Burger apparently has its branches outside of Autumn Bay too...
After drawing a Sherlock Holmes pastiche as the 100th strip, I thought that I'd try my hands on another detective-subgenre for the 200th. Though this time with the difference that this strip is indeed part of the ongoing chapter! (How exactly, you'll see in the following strips.)
This here also was mainly the reason for the guest weeks - I wanted the 200th strip to fall into exactly the right spot within the story! This also means though that I didn't draw each of the 200th strips myself, so thanks again to all guest artists for enabling this!
And no, I haven't heard about The Three Impostors yet, but, from what I can glean from the Wikipedia page, it sounds indeed intriguing. (Reading suggestion noted!)
This was a great page with a nice payoff at the end. The subtle change from grayscale to colour was a great idea. Some of the lines made me chuckle. Sharks, lasers, and stuff!
And yes, the mysterious coin with the serpent eating its own tail... The Worm Ouroborous!
(And no, I am not simply saying this because of Spiffee Burger.)
(Also, if you haven't read it, I might suggest {i}The Three Impostors[/i] by Arthur Machen. For some reason this reminds me of that a little.)

And yes, the symbol on the coin will later in the comic indeed be referred to as the Ouroboros Sea Serpent... ;-)
I sensed an Austin Powers vibes with the sharks and lasers being mentioned in the same panel.
And yes, I see how one could get reminded of Austin Powers in that panel... ;-D
Considering your comic, I was curious what you would say to my own attempt at noir!
