The name "Bimstein" ("Bimsstein" meaning "pumice" in German) is a pun on the real town of Ramstein(-Miesenbach), because for some time I imagined a specific key scene coming in this chapter as taking place in an American airbase instead of a toy company's research facility... (TV Tropes would call that a Development Gag.)
Hmm, I wonder if the harnessed the power of Lay Lines would that work. There is the theory (quite out there mind you) that these lines are like the life force of the planet and that a lot of ancient sites are positioned on them for their supernatural qualities.
