Dr. Strontium is amongst those leading the field when it comes to the development of autonomously driving vehicles. This may be because the safety of pedestrians is rather low on his list of priorities though...
You mean because a sidecar-less motorcycle that drives autonomously would be in constant danger of simply tipping over?
I didn't think of that, but yes, you are right!
I guess one could try to integrate some kind of software-controlled balancing system - but why so complicated when instead you can simply add a sidecar that widens the base and weights the whole thing down?
Though think I also should put in a "normal" motorcycle into the comic someday. I already came up with a fictional Japanese motorbike company ages ago (mentioned here and here), but as of yet there has been no opportunity to put it into the comic proper...
I'm not sure if I use that selfdriving bike, but I think I would design it on a Broufh Superior Austin 4 (that used a twin rearwheel!). If I come up with a design I'll post it in the TTS23 thread.

and then you start adding a lot of additional equipment unnecessary to the basic operation of a motorbike
so yes, you win this round, you sidecar-loving psycho!
