Is Lena 100 % sincere here, or does she just try to buy the silence of our protagonists?
(The answer lies probably somewhere in-between...)
OK, so this page arrived here a few hours late. I can't guarantee that the last page of this chapter (as always, the epilogue) will be done on time again. But one thing is for sure: It will feature a "special guest"! ;-)
I think that ToyCo could do a lot worse than to give a troubled artifact to a group of scientists who will heavily document their work with it. ToyCo should demand a copy of their notes as payment--a condition that would trouble industry but not academics.
Oh, you are on point with your asesement regarding Lena... ;-)
I like to compare the narrative niche she started occupying from this point on with that of Mr. Burns in The Simpsons: A character with vast financial resources, who can serve both as ally or as villain, depending on what story you want to tell right now...
It will also draw off Doctor Strontium.
Whatever their reasons, that's a brilliant call.
She lies and tells the truth at the same time XD
I have my doubts about Lena actually reforming to become a genuinely nice person though.
