"Operation Paperclip"
(That's how Wernher von Braun ended up in America, for example.)
For the sake of simplicity, I would have preferred the Paperclip-Ytterbium and the one who brought his little daughter with to work to be one and the same person.
But my comic is supposed to take place in our present, and Dr. Ytterbium is quite obviously not that old. ;-) Thus, I had to squeeze in one additional generation.
And it's nice that you remembered that she is immortal - it will be essential for the further understanding of this chapter. It seems that you already guessed in what direction we are heading here? ;-)
Trying to think of what would have been super hush hush in the 70s-90s... maybe her father installed backdoors into Cobol and other early generation programing languages?
I don't know - yet.
Right now, I only have the mental image of Lil' Alexandra (maybe 6 - 10 years old?) spending many after-school days in a maximum security research-facility, flying under the "potential secrecy leak"-radar of all those people who are otherwise very concerned about confidentiality, because she is "just a little girl"...

(Like David Morgan-Mar, the author of Irregular Webcomic! always does. He is a true master in this!)
