Kanny seems rather skeptical, though. For some unfathomable reason. :-D

Aw yeah! Get him, Kanny!

She isn't one to be easily fooled!

But on the other hand, this guy should not be underestimated either...

Well, she's the one person there likely to be able to stop him some how (on purpose - Tarik and Peter have some strange luck sometimes). :P

He yeah... I admit that I sometimes worry that Kanny comes off as a bit Mary Sue-ish...

All I can say is: Yes, she will play a role in stopping him.
But: Mark the exact wording of the previous sentence... ;-)

He's gonna wish they would have merely called the authorities...

And I was starting to wonder if anybody at all noticed that Frank's little apocalyptic subplot got a continuation here. :-D

The way Hollywood latched on to the "adults are useless" trope is one of the creepiest things ever, I think. "Soulless" doesn't begin to cover it.

I guess the "adults are useless" trope is what happens when a work aimed at kids tries to pander a bit too much to its target demographic...

It's known to go back to this one fairy series, I forget the exact name, <Something> the Fairy. It was clearly full of metaphors adults of the time would understand, effectively saying to parents, "If you let your children hang out with just anyone, bad things can happen to them." I'm phrasing it a bit lightly here. Hollywood execs looked at its popularity and the fact that it featured kind-of useless parents, and decided useless adults were what they wanted in everything.
