The most well known example here in Germany of a (former) works team would be the football club Bayer 04 Leverkusen, which was founded by employees of the pharmaceutical company Bayer.
Another well known example would be the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant softball team. ;-)
Apparently, Bettina Timmy was totally OK with Lena's request to found such a team. For as this little adventure she once had in Monaco shows, she was already aware of the value advertising in sport events can have.
And if you look very closely, you can see the scars on Wildebees' arms.

Imagine: all of the organizations in all of the comics that share this universe, putting together sports teams!
And then, a grand tournament to determine which organization is greatest of all (at sports). XD

I already mentioned the Simpsons in the author comment. My chapters also often follow their school of starting an episode with something that has almost nothing to do with the rest of the story...
* Except if the sport in question is quidditch, of course.
