Behold the return of Selene's expandable baton! (Complete with the sound effect!)
Plus, her gun is now sort of an amalgam between lirvilas' and my own previous rendition of it.

Also, it seems that loud noises here have the opposite effects on the birds than they had in the myth. (In which Herakles used rattles to shoo them up.)

Man, I don't know about Wildebees flaunting a large caliber chromed-up compensator... I mean, it's been pretty well established at this point, but barring some sort of sentimental reason I see her more of the type to carry a standard-issue Beretta M9. It's more fitting with her personality.

Soooo that all said, I would ask why does Selene carry a gigantic shiny .45 ACP? Is it a fallen relative's? Is it loot from an early victory? Is it a gift from Bettina or someone else? I'll bet there's a story there.

edit: dat expression in panel 5!!!

I think my original intention (way back when this weapon could first be glimpsed on her holster) was that it's a chromed version of the standard ToyCo guard weapon.
And as evidenced by the fact that I just had to look up how exactly a Beretta M9 looks like, I don't know much about guns and thus back then didn't put much thought on the calibre of said ToyCo weapons...

But yes, as it stands now, this gun definitely has potential for further story telling...
I'll have to ponder that a bit...

Also, can't exactly blame Selene for being a bit in a bad mood right now... :-D

Heh. I love how nonchalantly Selene fires her gun.

And seriously, don't knock the baton. She can do some serious damage with that thing...

Selene is rather practical-minded....

And in Soviet Russia, the baton knocks you!
(Okay okay, that joke was bad...)

In Soviet Russia, joke makes you. :P

hahaha this reminds me of a time my husband and I were walking on the beach, and he saw a bunch of eagles swarming near their nesting area, and while we were backing out he picks up a stick to defend himself. I'm like "really? You think that's going to be effective?" XD
Microraptor edit delete reply
Well, a stick (or any kind of weapon) may be more effective than just your bare hands, at least... :-D

Good way to control the anger, beating birds. I'll try the same next time haha!
Microraptor edit delete reply
Unfortunately, the birds may not like that though... ;-)

To be fair... It doesn't really look like Soren's weapon is being the most effective either!

Well, harpoons are meant for swimming creatures after all. Thrusting one upwards does indeed look kinda awkward...
