To quote myself from back then:
"I have read the Illuminatus! trilogy too (and thus am also aware of Discordianism et cetera).
But that was long ago, so I think the interpretation of the apple that I will present in this chapter may derive rather more from the Greek myth itself."
- Yes, that artifact won't be... completely unproblematic. ;-)
- Regrading direct Illuminatus! references: I think I have even seen the Apple itself in your work somewhere. Perhaps together with a "30 Days" character, but I am not sure...
- Regarding hijacks: Don't worry, I don't mind. :-)
(In fact, I myself was this close to link to this page in my "shopping spree" comment back here...)
I don't exactly remember putting the apple in, but it is something I would do. Probably on a whim, because it amused me, or as a last minute stealth reference.
That being said, though we have yet to show it, there is a bar in the Elysium neighborhood of Autumn Bay literally called The Golden Apple.
The boat is supposed to be the same as the one in this fan art, so you have to thank lirvilas for the unique windshield color.
That being said though, I think that colorfully tainted glass (or other transparent material) can be a really cool looking design element.
My guess though is that it isn't used very often for real vehicles due to practical reasons: After all, it is important to identify the colors of the traffic lights correctly when looking through the windshield of a car...
In germany, you wouldn't stand any chance with even a slightly tinted windscreen anyway, even original classic colorglass can be tricky if someone didn't write it down properly in the Fahrzeugbrief.
Old joke: An englishman and a german bet who'll be the first to finish a house. After a year, the englishman says: "Another year, and my house is finished."
The german says: "Another year, and I'll have the papers to start building."
(The joke will not work with building a car, because the german will never get the papers to start, no matter how old he gets.)
Yeah OK, the difference in national regulations regarding how fancy cars are allowed to be are a factor that I didn't take into account.
(But I already suspected that the German regulations may be on the more strict side in comparison to other countries, with the TÜV and all. For example, I have never seen something like a Wienermobile on our streets!)
Several of the Wiener mobile have been caught in accidents in the last decades, so that the old pun of "banger racing" suits them well. Speaking of the german TÜV, I am well aware of trouble and harrassment with it even before I was of legal age to drive. My last encounter was kind of a bad joke again. (I had to replace a seallamp because the inspector said "it wasn't adjustable", after I installed a new one, he wasn't able to adjust is as well, as he did it wrong in the first place. "Now you have one new seallamp, I think you should replace the other one as well, because the other one is new and the old one looks really old now, etc.")
And another one from own experience:
"What, you want to drive a british car import? No way, until you replaced the british lamps against german ones! Plus, etc."
Years later: "You want a H-registration for a classic british car? No way with german lamps instead of original british! Fake!"
(I could add endles more.)
I have NO idea how to pronounce Greek letters so I'm imagining Kanny being like "The Apple of Discord! It has GKHFGDHJGFDJKLSKGKFHJMMMMMBBBBBB written on it!"
"The Apple of Discord! It has [creepy sounds coming out of her mouth] written on it!" :-D
More seriously, what I tried to convey is, that as linguistic expert, Kanny always tries to pronounce words in Greek and other foreign languages as correctly as possible.
(BTW, did you catch the little Doctor Who reference a few pages earlier, in panel 2? ;-) )

@ Micro: That artifact there is nothing but trouble... And I think I owe you a few back comments.

Couldn't find any apple.
I could have sworn it was somewhere there.
That's vexing!
