Don't be too upset Clarissa, you will indeed succeed in making this technology work within the next ten years or so...

Also, yes in the first panel, the two characters from the previous scene do indeed meet again in their civilian identities.
(Ooooh, irony!)

That being said though, due to the COVID-19 crisis, my "official stance" is that there is an implicit time jump here. While said previous scene was pre-crisis, this one takes place perhaps one to three months into the future (as of the posting of this page), when the overall situation is (hopefully!) much more normal again.

So yeah, the retractable sword was pretty much Clarissa's "quarantine project"...

Sooooo with fencing what part of the sword does the the "damage"? I was under the impression that it was a stabby stabby sort of business, as opposed to hacking and slashing... or maybe I'm just too in love with the whole "collapsable baton" mechanism.

COVID-19 is the new normal and with my own stuff I am not planning on suggesting anything otherwise. But perhaps in a competently run country where there is widespread, repetitive testing and superb contact tracing there might be some semblance of how things were prior to February... good thing your main cast is based out of Germany.

Sweeping over several Wikipedia articles, fencing seems indeed to be more about thrusting rather than cutting (exception: Sabre fencing) - that doesn't mean though that it wouldn't at least hurt when one (without wearing protective clothes) gets hit with the edge of the blade...

Furthermore, the next page will imply that Clarissa designed the blades of this particular weapon to be razor-sharp all over...

Over here, we are currently sloooowly crawling out of lockdown again. (For example, my sports club has open again since this Monday, but we are required to wear masks, hold our distance, and other precautions.)

My worry is rather that somewhere in the country some idiots will act too normal too fast, spread a lot of infection again, and we'll have to face a second wave...

Change is not yet difficult.
I think they laughed a little. Such a situation cannot be done nationwide, and it is not a very good disaster. I could do nothing, just lowered it to the pot and moved slightly.

Guess that assignment isn't over yet.
I feel like that little bitey-munchy plant is laughing. It probably sees this all the time and cannot help but find these mishaps hilarious. Not much you can do when you're mostly immobile and stuck in a pot, I suppose.

Clarissa has to remember that old saying: If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again!
Well, at least the plant got entertained.

Clarissa must remember the previous words. Otherwise, try again!
That's right, at least the factory has been fixed.
