For the record: I had the idea to feature an explosive detection dog right from the start (ToyCo has bad experiences with bombs, after all), but it was SchipLover's comment that make me decide to use a Schipperke for this role.
(Otherwise it would probably have been a more common breed, like e.g. a German Shepard.)

Oh, BTW...

Stilldown is now selling Ariane Eldar: The Zeppelin Will Rise Again, a paperback for which I also did a small contribution. (Namely this short story.)

You can buy it here.

Ooooooh, that's a Schipperke!!!! (Wags Tail) Try training a cat to do that.

Luckily, I remembered that I did have a point in the comic planned where I wanted to feature a dog!
So why not a Schipperke? :-)

And yeah, a bomb cat, that may... not end very well.

bomb cats are far too intelligent to go seek out bombs

@ lirv:
And the lesson of the day: If the bomb cat starts to run like Hell - do so likewise!!
SchipLover edit delete reply
That's probably because cats like to bat at things and that's not such a good idea with bombs.

BTW, since it's a bomb dog, I've decided that his name shall be Alfred - after Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite!

Two thumbs up, if I had thumbs.

Zero Hour
single solid object... wonder what's that

It has a... quite peculiar form, doesn't it? ;-)

But one thing is for sure:
It isn't made out of several smaller parts.
(We thus can exclude e.g. some kind of death-bringing gadget.)

The Doodler
I'm overly delighted at a real (and I think somewhat rare) breed, ehehe. Where I live a lot of bomb and drug sniffers are little hounds, about that size, so why not?

Before SchipLover mentioning them, I didn't even know about this breed, so you have to thank him for that. ^^

I thus also had to look up which size Schipperkes have anyway, and was a bit surprised by how small they are!
It then was a bit tricky to get Selene and the dog into the same frame, but I think her kneeling is a sufficient solution.
