The first panel harkens back to the adventures (and romantic relationship!) Peter had with Ariane Eldar, as chronicled starting here, and in the story My Girl is a Cryptid.
(The story of their eventual break-up hasn't been told yet though.)
The last panel, on the other hand, is a homage to this iconic panel from Carl Barks.
(But let's face it, my whole comic is basically a homage to Carl Barks and Don Rosa...)
The song Peter and Ariane are singing is Johnny Remember Me by John Leyton. (Though of course with Peter's name instead.)
And it was back here when Peter acquired this strange guitar.

It was a fun sprint, but for now I'll dial back my update schedule to just two pages per week again.
