Aside from the opportunity to put in a few more Easter eggs, I find actual words just look better as titles for random books, instead of just drawing some vaguely letter-shaped lines!
This is supposed to be an university library, so it's more probably non-fiction.
However, the contents of the books may not correspond exactly to the comics the titles are referring to. For example, Kraken may simply be a book about kraken, and Grinder$ may be about... economics?
And what on Earth could be in that book titled Lectro!, which is second to the left in the uppermost row... ;-)
