Ratel and Johann seem to channel Plato and Aristotle a bit...

And Sini would prefer to be either here or here, just because Kanny isn't there!

All 3 of the young'ns at this table can relate to having famous, infamous or simply influential family members.
I think that they make for an interesting group.

Yes, I think they're quite interesting too!
We'll have to see how stable this clique will be, but sometimes I think of them as kinda this comic's "next generation".
(But don't worry, I don't plan to out-phase the current protagonists any time soon!!)

Makes me wonder though how exactly Jade fits in with "having famous, infamous or simply influential family members"... (At least if you don't count A.C. Doyle, like Tarik so erroneously does.)
I mean, as incidentally the latest Grinder$ strip points out, the Anvil Flats Doyles never really hit the jackpot.
(Perhaps Jane having been a member of Liberty International counts as infamous?)

Yes, I meant Jane with the 'infamous' comment.
As far as "influential", The Doyles over at Double-A's company may not be the higher-ups, but one shouldn't discount the small cogs, particularly if the machine is running smoothly.
Like Jen just pointed out, She's got 2 dozen relatives working there.
While everyone can be replaced, and such, I can't help but wonder what would happen if the Doyles all decided to take sudden sick leave for COVID or an impromptu family reunion or any random reason that they all would take off at the same time on any given day. How smoothly would their sections run, considering (and assuming) that they aren't the maniacs and perverts and, I assume, slackers that she was saying that the company is filled with?

Oooh, I like that angle!
Should they ever feel there to be a need for this, the Doyles could organize a very effective strike at MARSEC, just by mobilizing everyone in their family group chat! :-D

come on y'all

you're spoiling potential plot points regarding the eventual fate of "The Anvil Flats facility"

In this case, let's just hope that corporate backlash won't be too brutal when the workers' Doyle revolution comes...

(Except if the final fate of the Anvil Flats facility will be a Dr. Ashton-caused Chernobyl level catastrophic incident instead...)

Your mouseover comment reminded me of a dialogue error in my own thing that I just fixed... Donna takes the same approach towards her father.

Ah yes, because Donna reserves the term "Daddy" for... well, uh, yeah...
(Makes me wonder how Johann would've reacted to this quip of hers.
Or to Donna in general, for that matter...)

BTW, regarding the "Dad vs. Father" thing, I went a similar path here for Mitsuko.
(Though in this case I unfortunately don't know if Prof would agree.)
