Seems like Karin has self-esteem issues, due to being "just a copy" of somebody else...

And choosing Ethel of all people as her idol may be a bit... eccentric.
Next page however Karin will state another important reason for her choice besides the one already mentioned here.

I'm thinking metal dissolving soup is actually something you could market and sell.

While this chapter won't end with Karin and Ethel being millionaires or something, the soup will become very useful! ;-)

Pffft, I can think of a lot-lot good uses. Jail bars, locks, safes full of money, and boats (if a certain rich mean bollock is at board.)

Oooh, once again, you show predictive powers, Ariane!

But I won't say yet which prediction was the correct one... ;-)

In the following pages, we'll learn...

1. Who Ethel thinks is really cool.

2. What kind of TV show Dr. Morag gave Karin to watch.
It sure as heck wasn't something that might endorse clone empowerment!

ALSO

*Why* is Karin running around in (what appears to be) a bathing suit or lingerie? This ain’t a bikini coffee shop!

Or did I miss the memo? Maybe this is one of those cool sophisticated European things: “we’re not chained down by your puritan cultural values” “we refuse to participate in the madonna/whore dichotomy that has captured you Americans” etc.

Oh, there's actually an explanation for that:
It's what Ethel is wearing while behind the counter of the Egg-Imbiss, thus this establishment's "uniform".

That being said though, once Karin gets out of there, she'll wear something more, ahem... reasonable.
